Care Assistant Night

RESPONSIBLE TO:

MANAGER/SENIOR CARE ASSISTANT

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure health and safety is maintained at all times. Attend to resident’s personal care needs and to maintain adequate records of such care. Understand and complete risk assessing and medication tasks. To work in accordance with the practices and procedures of the company and CQC care standards.

DUTIES

• To work as a team member and be a team player.
• To be prepared and undertake staff supervision and appraisals.
• To have a flexible approach to working hours and duties in relevant circumstances.
• To maintain good health and safety practice at all times.
• To contribute towards residents care plans and risk assessments.
• To attend staff team meeting and other meeting related to the position.
• To attend and complete relevant training relevant to the position.
• To assist and support residents with physical tasks where required:  dressing/undressing, washing, showering, toileting, and any other personal care need requirements.
• To assist and support residents with medication tasks where required: administer and record medications.
• To assist and support residents with social interaction and activities where required: talking, listening to residents, helping them with any emotional problems and general queries, assist with shopping and recreation.
• To promote motivation and independence within the capacity of the resident’s abilities.
• To form positive and professional working relationships with residents, their family members and friends and external professionals.
• To carry out a daily welfare checks.
• To assist and support with domestic duties where required:  preparation of food, making and changing beds, laundry and cleaning duties.
• To carry out any other tasks that are relevant to the position.
